Abstract
INTRODUCTION. The world is currently going through two great historical moments: the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, progressively attenuated by the health systems, and the development of the war between Russia and Ukraine, which has been going on for more than a year and is creating tensions between East and West, which has had an impact on global economies. In this regard, some philosophers have put forward positions on these situations, which will be briefly addressed. METHODS: a documentary and news content analysis was carried out to identify these positions. CONCLUSION: the approach to the subject evidenced from the authors' perspective that humanity shows a resilient posture in the face of events that mark history. DISCUSSION, it may be observed that, although pandemics and war cause uncertainty, mutual collaboration between countries shows that vicissitudes cannot bend the human spirit.
