Abstract

ABSTRACT. Introduction: In the context of historical development, the influence of technology in society requires a deep philosophical reflection. Therefore, the purpose of this analysis is to review the conceptual scope of technique in society, facing the problem of automatization. Method: A phenomenological analysis was used based on the review of the categories derived from the science, technology, and society (STS) trend, allowing the theoretical review of relevant authors in the philosophical field. Results: From the theoretical review, it was identified that there is a distinction between what is technique and what is technology. In the background, technology is increasingly inherent to human life, consequently, this link transcends the multiple spheres of human life. For this reason, the term "Unheimlich" introduced in philosophy has been coined to describe the disconnection between human experience and technological progress. Conclusion: It is emphasized that the theory suggests a remarkable transformation of society in the age of technology. In this sense, multidisciplinary approaches are required to avoid bias around the problem of automatization as a reflection of the interaction between society and technology.
