Abstract

Revista Ariel was a means of diffusion published during the period of "The Cold War'', promulgating the ideas about the emancipation process of Latin America and social change, from a strong component of nationalism. It was a benchmark in the debate on anti-imperialist thought from which it worked on concepts such as: patriotism, independence, influence -domination and liberation- of foreign capital. Case presentation. The journal focused on the reminiscence of the thought of anti-imperialist intellectuals, who published their position against the lines of submission and economic dependence. This article is about writings published in Revista Ariel between 1964 and 1968, under its third stage and the direction of Medardo Mejía. Discussion. The essays were focused from the cultural, social, political, and economic fields. The idea of ​​liberation and true independence was widely questioned by the different writings presented in each edition. Conclusion. The ideas expressed by the authors in Revista Ariel during the period under study, were made from the anti-imperialist perspective, highlighting strong denunciations of the ruling elite during the period of military governments in Honduras from 1964-1968.
