Abstract

In 2022, the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) presented worrying conclusions on essential climate variables and behavior of meteorological phenomena in the Report on the State of the Climate in Latin America and the Caribbean. The report describes the behavior that the temperature has had between 2015 and 2021, with records of much warmer values compared to values recorded before the Industrial Revolution. The report also indicated more frequent phenomena of drought, tropical cyclones and extreme precipitation events. In sum, there have been meteorological phenomena that increase climate-related risks in the region.
