Abstract
Introduction. This study presents a comparative analysis between traditional methods and computer simulation for optimizing a manufacturing process. Methods. FlexSim was used as a simulation tool to model a desk lamp assembly line, comparing the results obtained with traditional analytical calculations. Results. The results demonstrate that simulation allows for more accurate identification of bottlenecks and efficient evaluation of multiple improvement scenarios. The simulated model showed a 23.5% reduction in cycle time and an 18.7% increase in overall system productivity. Conclusion. The findings suggest that simulation with FlexSim offers significant advantages over traditional methods in terms of accuracy, flexibility, and the ability to analyze complex scenarios.
