Abstract
In the field of medical education and health-related careers, the integration of technology has continuously revolutionized teaching methods. One of the newest and most significant advances is the use of digital stethoscopes, especially for addressing topics related to the cardiovascular system. This collaborative approach reinforces understanding and prepares students for the teamwork required in clinical settings. The goal of this educational innovation is to improve learning outcomes by integrating theoretical knowledge through the use of digital stethoscopes. In this case, a digital stethoscope (Eko Core 500™) that synchronizes auscultation with real-time visualization on the phonocardiogram was integrated as part of active learning and as a complementary tool to traditional analog stethoscopes, simulators, and body painting. The tool allows students to review stored recordings of heart sounds for more detailed analysis of the results. This capability supports personalized learning experiences, where students can review normal heart conditions at their own pace, reinforcing theoretical concepts seen in the classroom. In conclusion, the use of this technological tool in the classroom is considered innovative and creative, amplifying theory through active laboratory practices with the use of digital stethoscopes in the subjects of Circulatory and Respiratory Systems, recommending its use in other General Physiology courses within the School of Health Sciences, CEUTEC.
